What to know about Christa Pike, her botched execution and what happens next


Christa Pike is in critical condition after a botched execution in Tennessee, when the lethal drugs she was injected with failed to kill her.

It’s the second time this year an execution in the state has gone wrong, and led Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee to halt executions and order an investigation into the incident.
