The fall/winter 2026 runways offered plenty of chic fall jacket trends to get excited about, from opulent brocade and embroidered details to chic frog closures and minimalist funnel-neck leather jackets. But as I analyzed the collections, there was one jacket trend that particularly caught my eye: a simple yet significant silhouette shift to incredibly fitted and cropped silhouettes—toppers that almost looked like they were a size too small. Gucci’s shrunken blazers and suiting immediately come to mind—dramatically diminutive yet elegant. The slimmer silhouettes were also spotted at Prada, Jil Sander, and Emilia Wickstead, proving that for fall/winter 2026, it’s all about shrunken jacket styles.
