The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered debuted on the Switch 2 in August and Bethesda has now released and update for the RPG.

It comes loaded with a bunch of fixes, so if you’ve encountered any of these problems, they should no longer be an issue as of Patch 1.1.

Here’s the full rundown via The Elder Scrolls website:

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Patch 1.1 (Nintendo Switch 2) — September 17, 2026

Crashes:

  • Fixed a crash when quickly using either the Altar of Enchanting or the Altar of Spell Making to add an enchantment or spell effect to an item.
  • Fixed a crash when launching or navigating the player map.
  • Fixed a crash when the player switches to third-person camera view.
  • Fixed a crash when loading into the Cheydinhal Fighters Guild during the “Mystery at Harlun’s Watch” quest.
  • Fixed a crash when fast-traveling after exiting Castle Bravil.
  • Fixed a crash when the player idles outside in the Kvatch Oblivion realm.
  • Fixed a crash when the player repeatedly casts a custom Bound spell and uses the Wait option.
  • Fixed a crash when the player uses the Wait button while a bound weapon or armor magic effect runs out.

Fixed the following Gameplay issues:

  • Random items would be equipped if the player cast the Blessing of Talos spell during the “Umaril the Unfeathered” quest.
  • Moving in shallow water while under the Water Walking effect would cause the player’s character to jitter.
  • The player could escape out of world at the Temple of the One during the “Imperial Dragon Armor” quest.
  • Improved depletion of the player breath bar while underwater during loading screens.

Fixed the following Visuals issues:

  • The Lucky Old Lady statue in Bravil was missing animations during the “Honor Thy Mother” quest.

In our Switch 2 review of this title, we called it a “solid update of an all-time classic RPG”, despite some issues with the target fps.

“This is without a doubt one of the best RPGs of all time and the remaster gives the same old game a brand-new look. With the main quest and all additional content, it’s huge value for money and well worth experiencing for the first time or revisiting if you’ve walked through this flaming gate before.”
