Yesterday, easyJet announced a raft of new routes from its bases across the UK. All in all, next summer will see it launch flights on 18 corridors, with a third of these departing from airports in Scotland. Spain is an unsurprisingly common theme among the new additions, given its popularity among British tourists, and, next summer, easyJet will grow its Spanish network by flying to Girona for the first time.

Another interesting aspect of the new additions to the easyJet network is the fact that there are relatively few from London. This shows the carrier’s commitment to serving all regions of the country as opposed to just the capital city. According to aviation analyst @SeanM1997 on X, almost all of the new routes will operate twice a week. However, any whose frequencies differ will be duly noted.

Six Scottish Additions

As detailed in the interactive map that is embedded below, a third of the 18 new routes originate in Scotland. This coverage is spread across two airports, with Aberdeen Dyce Airport (ABZ) being the subject of two of the additions. From March 31, Aberdonians will be able to fly to Barcelona with easyJet, with a second new route to Palma de Mallorca (PMI) in the Balearic Islands commencing on May 3.

Elsewhere in Scotland, next summer will also see easyJet launch four routes from Edinburgh (EDI). The first two will begin serving Tivat (TIV) in Montenegro (once a week) and Hamburg (HAM) in Germany on March 29, with Bilbao (BIO) in Spain and Rome Fiumicino (FCO) in Italy following a day later. Kevin Doyle, who currently serves as easyJet’s Country Manager for the United Kingdom, said yesterday that:

“Whether customers are planning a summer beach holiday, a city break, or a chance to explore somewhere new, there’s never been a better time to book a flight or package holiday with easyJet.”

Secondary English Airports

South of the border, England accounts for the remaining 12 additions, with eight of these being from airports that don’t serve London. Manchester (MAN) and Newcastle (NCL) will each see one addition, with weekly flights from the latter to Larnaca (LCA) in Cyprus starting on March 31. Just over three months later, on July 3, easyJet will commence operations on its new route from Manchester to Bastia (BIA).

Just down the road from Manchester, John Lennon Airport (LPL) in Liverpool will see two new additions next summer, with both of these corridors serving destinations in Spain. Flights to Girona (GRO) will start first, on March 28, followed by Murcia (RMU) on May 3. In the Midlands, Birmingham Airport (BHX) will get new easyJet flights to Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) in Italy on March 29 and Tivat on May 3.

Further southwest, this just leaves Bristol Airport (BRS) when it comes to easyJet’s non-London English additions next summer. From here, guests will be able to fly to Burgas Airport (BOJ) in Bulgaria as of May 28 next year, with flights to Montpellier Méditerranée Airport (MPL) in the south of France starting on July 1. But what does the picture look like in terms of additions at easyJet’s London bases?

London Calling

As seen in the table below, easyJet currently operates flights out of four different bases that serve London. Of these, three will see new routes added next summer, with London Gatwick Airport (LGW) being another base from which flights to Girona are being launched. While these will initially operate twice a week from June 3, this frequency will jump to three flights a week on June 29 for the summer peak.

Elsewhere, the earliest London addition will start on April 27, when easyJet launches flights from Southend Airport (SEN) to Rhodes (RHO) in Greece. Shortly afterward, May 1 will see another Greek addition, as the carrier begins flying from London Luton Airport (LTN) down to Thessaloniki (SKG). Gatwick is the only London airport to get two new routes, with its second, to Ajaccio (AJA), set to start on June 30, 2027.
