Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced patch makes the very important change of letting you hide Edward’s blowpipe

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is getting a new patch with a sizeable list of changes. Update 1.0.6 arrives later today across PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Download sizes vary widely; as small as 1.8GB on Steam or as large as a chonky 15.2GB on Xbox.

The highlight feature of 1.0.6 is the addition of an option to hide the Blowpipe. This simply lets you remove the Blowpipe from the protagonist’s 3D model so it no longer appears on his back.

To hide the Blowpipe (which sounds like a euphemism for something), you simply bring up the inventory screen, hover over your outfit and click R2/RT to ‘hide Gear’. You can click it again to ‘Show Gear’, if you want the pipe to appear on their back.

Though admittedly a small issue, some players complained that the Blowpipe ruins the character’s look and the aesthetics of certain outfits, while others were simply too distracted by the pipe’s model constantly clipping through outfits and wanted to remove it. Even before the patch’s release, players devised a set of steps you can undertake in-game to hide the thing.

Patch 1.0.6 also increases the number of autosaves from five to 10, and adds a tutorial for how to throw money. Elsewhere in the patch notes, there’s a range of bug fixes across different parts of the game.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has been selling well, exceeding publisher Ubisoft’s own expectations. The game has sold over 3.5m copies in its first 14 days alone, and was recently revealed to be among the top 20 most played games on Xbox in recent weeks.
