A Fifth ‘Hotel Transylvania’ Movie is in The Works

A fifth ‘Hotel Transylvania’ movie is on the way.
‘The Haunting of Hotel Transylvania’ will be out in 2027.
Sony Pictures Animation and Amazon MGM Studios are teaming up to release it.

2012’s ‘Hotel Transylvania’ spawned a huge franchise of movies, shorts and associated spin-offs. And never one to let a good cash cow go out to pasture, Sony Pictures Animation has a fifth incarnation, ‘The Haunting of Hotel Transylvania,’ headed our way just in time for Halloween next year.

And in a twist, Deadline reports that the company –– which licensed the fourth outing, ‘Hotel Transylvania: Transformania’ to Amazon’s Prime Video service when the pandemic was still shutting down theaters in 2022 –– will team up with Amazon MGM to release this new one on the big screen.

Release Date: Oct 8, 2027

While Adam Sandler, who led the voice cast as Dracula for the first three but dipped out on the fourth, may not return, we’d expect to see (or hear) the likes of Selena Gomez, Andy Samberg and Steve Buscemi back.

What’s the story of ‘Hotel Transylvania’?

The movies follow Dracula, his daughter Mavis (Gomez) and all their monster friends and their adventures at Hotel Transylvania — the ultimate getaway where monster families can kick back far from the human world.

In this new installment, Drac has happily settled into retirement while Mavis takes the reins of the legendary monster hotel. But when a series of spooky and unexplained happenings sends chills through the resort, the Drac Pack embarks on its most spellbinding adventure yet: uncovering the mystery behind the haunting of Hotel Transylvania.
