Air France is perhaps the most obvious candidate to be among the airlines with the best business class catering. After all, it is the flag carrier of France, the country known for setting the gold standard for fine dining with its “haute cuisine” and the birthplace of the famous Michelin Guide. While the French carrier only received fifth place in the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2025, it might deserve first place for presentation and storytelling.

According to the airline, it is “a proud ambassador of French gastronomy.” A testament to this is Air France’s collaborations with renowned chefs offering passengers refined Michelin-starred cuisine. The menus are carefully curated and feature seasonal, locally sourced French produce, including dishes such as braised lamb shoulder with root vegetables and duck confit with pearl barley. To complement all the dishes served onboard and curate an extensive wine list that can be expected from a French airline, Air France employs renowned sommelier Xavier Thuizat to select the finest bottles. The famous French pastries offered onboard are designed by pastry chef Nina Métayer, who was named World’s Best Pastry Chef in 2023 and 2024:

“For Air France, I thought of these desserts as real travel companions. I worked on powerful yet light pastries to take travelers on a sensory escapade while evoking the charm of faraway destinations.”

On daytime flights, Air France offers passengers a 5-course à la carte menu with an apéritif served with an amuse-bouche, followed by an appetizer, main course, cheese plate, and dessert. On night flights, the dinner service is optimized to ensure passengers can have a good night’s rest. All dishes are served on premium tableware designed by a famous French designer.

Passengers can also pre-select their menu up to 15 days before departure, guaranteeing that their preferred dish is available. For passengers who prefer to go to sleep as soon as possible, a quick dining option with a number of cold dishes served all at once is also available. Last but not least, the airline also offers a “buffet” on some of its longest flights featuring a gourmet basket, fresh fruits, as well as a selection of warm snacks.

ANA’s Japanese menus are structured around a sequence of dishes designed to showcase regional ingredients and seasonal specialties. Depending on the route and time of year, passengers may be served fresh seafood, simmered vegetables, rice, miso soup, and a variety of small appetizers that highlight different textures and flavors. The menus are updated regularly throughout the year, reflecting the importance of seasonality in Japanese cuisine.

To further elevate the onboard experience, ANA collaborates with renowned chefs and restaurant groups from across Japan to bring restaurant-quality cuisine to the skies. Alongside the Japanese menu, passengers can also choose from a Western dining option developed in partnership with internationally recognized culinary specialists and prestigious restaurants. Beyond the main meal service, ANA offers an extensive “Anytime” dining menu for passengers wishing to enjoy a lighter meal or snack during the flight. The airline also serves a curated selection of premium champagnes, wines, Japanese sake, and teas. Passengers can pre-select their preferred first meal up to 24 hours before departure.

Another airline known for world-class business class catering is Singapore Airlines. In 2025, this renowned Asian airline had the second-best business class product in the world, while offering passengers the third-best business class catering onboard its flights. According to the airline’s website, “each menu reflects genuine culinary heritage, thoughtfully created to deliver meaningful, flavour-driven experiences above the clouds.”

Onboard business class passengers enjoy a restaurant-style experience as part of the airline’s “Book the Cook” service. Passengers can pre-order their main course up to six weeks in advance. The airline employs an International Culinary Panel with chefs from all around the world to craft authentic menus inspired by their roots and personal experiences. Alongside this, Singapore Airlines invites three of the world’s leading experts to taste over 1,000 wines and curate a high-quality wine list.

Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways has the best overall business class product in the world according to Skytrax, and placed second for business class catering. Menus are curated by a selection of world-class chefs and rotate frequently. The courses themselves are inspired by the vast number of destinations the Doha-based airline serves. All the airline’s dishes are prepared with a focus on fresh, locally sourced, and in-season ingredients, and an exclusive selection of premium beverages is available throughout the flight.

Qatar Airways has built one of the world’s most flexible business-class dining experiences through its signature dine-on-demand concept. Rather than being tied to fixed meal times, passengers can order from the full menu whenever they choose during the flight. This approach allows travelers to customize their journey around their own schedule, whether they want to maximize sleep on an overnight flight or enjoy multiple courses throughout a long-haul journey. Passengers can order from a full à la carte menu with each meal individually plated and served in courses rather than as a single tray.

Presentation is a key part of the experience, and dishes are plated individually and served on premium tableware, helping create a restaurant-style atmosphere in the cabin. Qatar Airways further complements the dining experience with an extensive beverage program featuring premium wines, spirits, and Champagne, including Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve. ​​The airline has historically partnered with prestigious Champagne houses, while its wine selection is curated to pair with the onboard menus.

Turkish Airlines

Skytrax’s World’s Best Business Class Catering

At the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2025, it was Turkish Airlines that received first place for best airline catering, an award the airline has won eight times already. Contributing to the carrier’s catering success is its long-standing partnership with the Austrian catering company DO&CO. This company designs and prepares the majority of meals in the carrier’s premium cabins, with menus that typically blend Turkish culinary traditions with international fine dining.

On long overnight flights, the airline offers business class passengers a “Dine on Demand” service, allowing passengers to choose when their meal is served to suit their preferences. These long flights often also feature onboard chefs preparing and presenting the airline’s exclusive menus, bringing a fine-dining restaurant feel to 37,000 feet. Alongside classic Turkish dishes, main courses served on Turkish Airlines flights include homemade Italian pasta, sea bass drizzled with pesto sauce, savory white bean stew and pilaf, swordfish, and perfectly cooked, tender lamb shank, served after a selection of hot and cold appetizers.

For dessert, the award-winning airline offers a wide selection of sweets ranging from Turkish sherbet pastries, warm tahini halva, tiramisu, Maraş ice cream, and a variety of seasonal fruits. Upon boarding, the passengers receive a welcome drink, and throughout the flight, a wide selection of beverages is made available, including a selection of special mocktails, detox drinks, herbal teas, and gourmet coffee.
