Three goals inside the opening quarter sealed the deal as Stockport picked up a convincing 4-0 victory at Sky Bet League One rivals Wigan.
A mistake from Wigan captain Max Power led to Kyle Wootton lashing the ball into the top corner from 25 yards in the 10th minute.
County doubled their lead in the 19th minute when Harry Wood broke through the home defence and slipped the ball over the advancing Joe Whitworth.

County almost added a fourth goal five minutes into the second period when, after a mad scramble following a corner, the ball ricocheted toward the home goal and only a superb save from Whitworth kept it out.
Wigan hit the post through Archie Harris as they tried to get back into it, while substitute Chris Sze forced a brilliant save from Oliver Whatmuff in the visiting goal.
But County added a fourth goal they undoubtedly warranted in the last minute through Ryan Glover.
