Utah university releases independent review of Charlie Kirk shooting


Security should have been more stringent at the college event where conservative activist Charlie Kirk was fatally shot, according to a review released Friday by Utah Valley University.

UVU commissioned the independent review after a gunman shot Kirk as he addressed a crowd on Sept. 10, 2025. Kirk’s family has accused the university of failing to protect Kirk, alleging “stunning failures” in a recent notice to Utah officials.
