
A red warning for a possible tornado has been issued for the Milton, Mississauga, and Oakville areas of Ontario.
Environment Canada issued the warning at around 12:20 p.m. Saturday, saying its meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that’s is possibly producing a tornado.
The thunderstorm location is just east of Milton Motion, Ont. and is moving southeast at 40 km/h. The possible tornado is listed as strong and could reach up to 90 km/h.

The impact level is listed as extreme and the forecast confidence is very high.
“This is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation,” the warning reads.
“Take cover immediately in a basement, interior room, or a sturdy shelter when threatening weather approaches. If no shelter is available, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris. If you are out on the water when threatening weather approaches, return to shore and seek shelter, if possible.”
The warnings advises people to move away from the path of the tornado to escape.
“Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches,” it adds.
