Scorecard

Hampshire Hawks beat Notts Outlaws by 27 runs at Edgbaston to set up a meeting with Northamptonshire Steelbacks in the men’s T20 Blast final.

After Hampshire opener Toby Albert was dismissed early on, Hawks captain James Vince and Joe Weatherley combined superbly and put together a partnership of 126 on their way to a total of 187-3.

Weatherley finished on a T20 career best of 88 not out, while Vince struck 59 from 43 balls, helping Hampshire set the highest total of T20 Finals Day so far.

In their reply, Notts looked good on 100-1 with opener Joe Clarke hitting 64 from 43 balls but they lost their last nine wickets for 60 with paceman James Fuller taking 4-26.

With last year’s runners-up Hampshire looking to go one better in 2026, they got off to a poor start as Albert snicked his second delivery from Mohammad Amir behind to Tom Moores.

Vince was then joined by Weatherley in the middle who continued his fine form from this season’s Blast into the semi-final.

Their 126 run partnership was one of their best in the competition so far, with Vince pulling one six so high over deep square leg that it was lost in one of the stands that is being rebuilt.

Vince was eventually caught at long-on after failing to connect a slower ball from former team-mate Benny Howell.

Weatherley continued to find the boundary after Vince departed and finished with five fours and five sixes.

South Africa batter Tristan Stubbs joined Weatherley but could only make eight before fellow overseas player Hilton Cartwright finished the innings with 19 off nine balls.

After the Outlaws had survived the first two overs of their reply, Hampshire struck in the third as George Munsey pulled a ball from Chris Wood into the leg side where Stubbs was able to take a simple catch.

Clarke and Jack Haynes then put Notts well in the chase including a big six from Clarke down the ground that took the Outlaws to 50 after seven overs.

His half-century came in the 11th over with a top edge to third man for four before taking a single and raising his bat to the Edgbaston crowd.

Clarke eventually went for 64 off 43 balls, sending one high into the air from Fuller as Scott Currie took the catch, a few balls after England all-rounder Liam Dawson removed Haynes for 25.

From 102-3, the collapse began.

Moores departed for nine in the 15th over before Chris Wood then took his second wicket with his first ball of the 17th taking South African George Linde who struck to long-off where Currie took another catch.

England paceman Sonny Baker claimed his first wicket in the 18th over, ripping Benny Howell’s middle stump out the ground before Currie caught and bowled Liam Patterson-White.

Right-armer Currie then took the wicket of Dillon Pennington with his very next ball, knocking the bails off the top of his stumps.

Fuller took his third and fourth wickets of the game in the final over, bowling Joe Pocklington and Olly Stone as Notts were bowled out with a ball to spare.

Hampshire Hawks will now take on Northamptonshire Steelbacks in the T20 Blast final with an 18:45 BST start time.
