Following the New York Knicks championship, and OG Anunoby becoming the first player to win the NBA Finals while wearing Skechrs, the brand has announced he’ll get his own signature sneaker.

A force to be reckoned with in the regular season, through the playoffs, and especially that heroic Game 4 finisher and key fourth quarter points, OG has driven awareness and excitement for Skechers Basketball and our position in this sport,” Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers, said in a press release. “Delivering a game that continues to surprise, OG embodies the spirit of not only Skechers Performance but the entire philosophy of Skechers as The Comfort Technology Company. It’s too early to share specific details, but we do have a signature shoe in the works.”

Anunoby capped off the biggest comeback in the history of the NBA Finals in game 4 by tipping in the winning shot with 1.2 seconds. On his feet for the historic moment was his second pair of player-exclusive Skechers sneakers.

Anunoby’s Skechers SKX Reign “NYC Blue” was appropriately clad in New York Knicks blue and orange. The former color dominates the majority of the territory, while orange is used for the the lining of the Skechers logo, as well as the laces and eyestays. Another pop of orange then comes via the personalized “OG” logo on the tongue.

Prior to game 3, Anunoby debuted another player-exclusive SKX Reign inspired by the New York City staple Timberland “Wheat” boot.

“In less than a year, Skechers has shown me what a true partnership looks like,” Anunoby said in a press release. “The SKX Reign ‘Foreman’ is a shoe built on hard work, defense, and dedication, and the SKX Nexus ‘NYC Blue’ — an homage to the Knicks and this incredible moment — are both a reflection of that. Debuting them on the Finals stage is a surreal moment, and I’m just grateful for the continued love and support from the entire Skechers family.”

The SKX Reign is a mid-top featuring a dual-density Hyper Burst midsole, carbon-infused plate and a resilient Hyper Burst Pro sockliner. A mesh upper then hosts layers of TPU skin with a rubber wrap locking down the midfoot.

The Knicks overcame a 29-point deficit in the second half, and Anunoby finished with 33 points including 19 over the final two quarters.

No plans to release the Skechers SKX Reign “NYC Blue” have been announced, but a giveaway is running on Skechers’ Instagram account through Thursday.
