Silent Hill, Gravity Rush director’s Bokeh Game Studio is reportedly casting for a new horror game

It looks like Bokeh Game Studio, founded by Keiichiro Toyama, who directed the original Silent Hill and created Siren and Gravity Rush, is working on another horror game.

According to MP1st, Bokeh is hiring motion capture performers for its next project, which is seemingly still untitled.

The casting sheet lists characters including River, Dean, Lyra, Hazel, Becca, Dena, and Emma, plus an eight-year-old girl.

Descriptions cover mature themes including drug use and trafficking, violence, abuse, grief, and sex work, with several characters tied to creature transformation – all of which sounds surprisingly close to Toyama’s prior game, Slitterhead… which is interesting, given Slitterhead didn’t exactly set the world alight.

River’s entry cites River Phoenix and Kurt Cobain as visual references, while Lyra’s points to Mia Goth as a tonal reference.

Bokeh’s debut, Slitterhead, launched in 2024. I bucked the trend with my four out of five star verdict in Eurogamer’s Slitterhead review, writing: “Slitterhead is stylish and thrilling and unusual (and really, how can you say no when one particular Slitterhead that looks uncannily like Beetlejuice?). How lucky we are that something as singular and unapologetically strange as this exists”.
