Environment Minister Julie Dabrusin has found a new recruit for her communication team.

Selin Ozturk said in a post on LinkedIn that she was joining the minister’s office as a senior communications and digital advisor.

“I look forward to supporting Canada’s work on nature protection, climate action, and sustainable economic growth,” she wrote.

Ozturk has jumped between the environment minister’s office and the World Intellectual Property Organization or WIPO for the past few years.

She first joined WIPO on an internship in 2020 and stayed until Feb. 2024, moving up the ranks to assistant information officer. She left to join the federal environment minister’s office as a communication advisor, a role she held until July 2025. Then in Sept. 2025, Ozturk rejoined WIPO in Amsterdam, in a communications role, before leaving this past June to head back to Canada.
