Just a day after the 2026 Emmy Awards, Selena Gomez flew into New York City to reunite with her husband, Benny Blanco, for a dinner date. The “Only Murders in the Building” star was spotted out on Tuesday wearing an all-black, cozy ensemble but with a pair of Tony Bianco‘s Tropic Black Nappa Mules.

The footwear brand refers to its Tropic mules as the “perfect leather thong.” The Tropic style is crafted from buttery leather and features a slip-on mule design. It boasts a squared, open toe that is slightly slanted, and the sandals stand on a kitten heel that measures 1.4 inches.

Perhaps the most identifiable feature of the Tony Bianco sandals is the padded, wide-cut napa leather thong strap that combines a modern puffy aesthetic with a classic flip-flop silhouette. The leather is softly filled or “padded” to create a thick, rounded and cushioned appearance rather than looking flat or narrow.

Unlike thin, delicate sandal straps, the strap is quite wide as it wraps over the top of the foot, tapering down elegantly toward the sides. The strap anchors between the first two toes with a smooth leather toe post, holding the foot securely while leaving the sides and back of the foot exposed in a classic mule style. The shoes are available in white napa, tan napa and vanilla napa. They retail for $155.

While it’s still technically summer, the weather in New York has cooled significantly compared to the start of September. Gomez kept the thong sandals on but paired them with a much more weather-friendly look that was appropriate for a chilly night out in the city. The all-black look included black stirrup pants, a black turtleneck and a long black cardigan sweater.

While the look was much more toned down than her golden Louis Vuitton Emmys dress, she elevated her ensemble with the Chanel 25 Small Bag in black leather. The makeup mogul went makeup-free and wore round-framed glasses.
