Trump himself is facing the limits of gangsterism in the Persian Gulf. He agreed to what was, in effect, a massive hit on the Iranian leadership. The Israeli-American assault took out the supreme leader and many of the underbosses, but it is not possible to also decide who will take over the family, so to speak. The new don, the new godfather, the new ayatollah, may well be worse than the previous one. It is possible that a rival gangster may well hit back.
