Arsenal will look to maintain its strong start to the defense of its English Premier League title on Saturday as it makes the trip to Wearside to face an indifferent Sunderland.

The Gunners stamped their authority at the top of the EPL standings with an impressive 2-1 win over Chelsea at home in last Sunday’s entertaining London derby. That was followed up with another important win over Napoli in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.

Sunderland, however, stands in the way of the North Londoners making it four wins from their opening four EPL fixtures. The team started the weekend 12th in the standings following last weekend’s drab 1-1 draw with Brentford. While the Black Cats haven’t matched the electrifying start they made last season, Tuesday’s Carabao Cup win over Hull will have encouraged Régis Le Bris that his team is heading in the right direction.

Sunderland takes on Arsenal on Saturday, Sept. 12 at the Stadium of Light, with kickoff set for 8 p.m. BST. That makes it a 3 p.m. ET or 12 p.m. PT start in the US and Canada, and a 5 a.m. AEST kickoff in Australia on Sunday morning.
