NDP statement on the four-year anniversary of Russia’s illegal attack on Ukraine « Canada’s NDP

NDP foreign affairs critic Alexandre Boulerice (Rosemont—La Petite-Patrie) issued the following statement:

“For four years, Ukrainians have bravely resisted Putin’s illegal invasion.

For four years, Ukrainians have fought back as their homes and cities have burned to rubble.

For four years, Ukrainians have championed order and accountability in a world where global powers increasingly flout international law.

And for four years, Canadians have stood in solidarity with Ukraine and Ukrainians.

New Democrats have long pushed this government to do more for the people of Ukraine – calling on the Liberals to impose stronger sanctions on Russia and demanding a seizure of Russian assets in Canada.

And while the Conservatives aim to make Canada less welcoming to refugees by cutting heath care funding, we are committed to ensuring Ukrainians and all newcomers to Canada have the supports they need.

New Democrats will always stand with Ukraine and Ukrainians. Slava Ukraini.”
