Nat Sciver-Brunt: England captain to miss first two Trent Rockets matches to manage workload

England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt will miss Trent Rockets’ first two matches of The Hundred to manage her workload.

Sciver-Brunt, 33, has been managing a calf problem throughout the summer.

The all-rounder suffered the injury playing domestic cricket for The Blaze in April, and it led to her missing England’s early series against New Zealand and India as well as three group-stage matches of the T20 World Cup.

It also meant she had to play as a specialist batter during the tournament, where England were beaten by Australia in the final at Lord’s.

England’s next series starts on 1 September with three one-day internationals against Ireland.

Trent Rockets open their Hundred campaign on Friday against Birmingham Phoenix at 15:00 BST and then take on London Spirit on Sunday.

Sciver-Brunt previously captained the Rockets but stepped down from the role in 2025 shortly after she took on the England leadership.

Her wife, former England bowler Katherine, was recently appointed as Rockets’ assistant coach.
