It’s a natural part of LEGO’s lifecycle, but it’s always sad to see it happen; a good few Nintendo-themed LEGO sets are being retired this year.

Just like we’ve previously seen with the wonderful Super Mario World Mario & Yoshi and Great Deku Tree sets, a bunch of other builds will be hitting the hay before 2026 is up — cue an inevitable price hike on the resale market.

All of the soon-to-be-retired sets can be found on the LEGO website, though Brick Fanatics has recently updated its retirement list to include a few other sets that are currently sold out on the LEGO site (and are unlikely to be restocked before their shelf time comes to an end).

The biggies for us Nintendo fans are the collections of Animal Crossing and Mario Kart sets that’ll be sunset in 2026 — including a few pieces in the ‘interactive’ range for the latter. We’ve listed all those that are retiring soon below, and included a couple of Sonic sets on the way out for good measure.

While it will be a shame to see all of the above go, we do have those swanky Mario Minifig sets to look forward to next year, and that sweet Link & Epona set that was revealed in the recent Zelda Direct. Maybe fewer options are a good thing!
