Kyle Leonard rejoins Gary Anandasangaree’s ministerial office; Alexandre Boulé leaves the Hill

Kyle Leonard has returned to Parliament Hill.

Earlier this year, he joined Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree’s office as the director of stakeholder relations.

It marked his return to politics after spending eight months as an account director with *Spark Advocacy.

Leonard is no stranger to working with Anandasangaree, having served in his office while he was the minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations.

He joined the office in 2023 as a legislative and parliamentary secretary assistant shortly after Anandasangaree took over the job.

Leonard moved up to issues manager and legislative affairs advisor in January 2024. He was promoted to issues manager and senior communications advisor in June of that year and was then named director of communications and issues management in December, a role he held until June 2025, when he left government.

Meanwhile, Alexandre Boulé announced he was leaving Parliament Hill after some six years in federal politics (and 10 in politics of all stripes).

In a post on LinkedIn, Boulé thanked his colleagues over the years and said he was looking forward to the next chapter.

A former chief of staff at Global Affairs, he mostly recently served as a senior advisor in the Prime Minister’s Office, a role he took in March 2025 as Mark Carney took over from Justin Trudeau.
