John Paul Gamage joins StrategyCorp, Ya’ara Saks joins Sussex Strategy Group, Leif Carlson promoted at Cereals Canada

John Paul Gamage joins StrategyCorp as a government relations consultant

In a statement shared with iPolitics, John stated that he is “excited to join StrategyCorp as a Government Relations Consultant. StrategyCorp is a trusted and long-standing advisor on some of the most complex, highly regulated, and scrutinized issues in the Canadian (and global) landscape.”

Prior to joining StrategyCorp, John worked as a Parliamentary Assistant in the House of Commons, as well as a research intern at the Ethics and Public Policy Centre in Washington D.C. In the statement, John said, “I am looking forward to learning from the sharpest public policy strategists and delivering excellent service to our clients.”

 

Ya’ara Saks (Sourced)

Ya’ara Saks has joined Sussex Strategy Group as senior counsel.

In a statement on LinkedIn Sussex, the firm stated, “Ya’ara will advise clients on international trade, natural resources, mining, and health-related files, drawing on her deep understanding of federal decision-making, Cabinet processes, and intergovernmental coordination.”

Prior to joining Sussex Strategy, Saks served as Canada’s minister of mental health and addictions and associate Minister of health, as well as parliamentary secretary to the minister of families, children and social development. During this time, she represented York Centre as a Member of Parliament.

Leif Carlson (LinkedIn)

Cereals Canada announced the promotion of Leif Carlson to vice president, markets and trade at Cereals Canada.

Leif started at Cereals Canada in June of 2021 as a markets and trade specialist, rising over the years until reaching his current position as VP of markets and trade. In the statement on LinkedIn, Cereals Canada stated that “Leif’s leadership will support dependable market access and sustained global demand for Canadian wheat, durum, barley, and oats.”

Prior to joining Cereals Canada, Leif worked as a trade policy specialist with the Government of Manitoba.
