Japan Bonds Face Homegrown Downside Risks Even as Oil Retreats


“The Takaichi administration is pursuing a high-pressure economic policy, so it wants the Bank of Japan to be cautious about raising interest rates,” said Eiji Dohke, chief bond strategist at SBI Securities Co. in Tokyo. “The stronger inflationary pressure becomes, and the more inflation expectations move upward, the more Japan risks falling behind the curve.”
