Is Vanderbilt QB Jared Curtis playing against Georgia football?

The Georgia Bulldogs (4-0) will face the Vanderbilt Commodores (3-1), who are led by Jared Curtis a major Georgia flip at quarterback. Unfortunately, Curtis’s health status has been up in the air, with Friday’s injury report listing him as questionable. His status will be updated 90 minutes before kickoff (12:45 p.m. ET kickoff time on Saturday, Oct. 3). According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Curtis will be a game-time decision.

“Curtis will attempt to play on Saturday, with a final decision to come after he’s evaluated pregame,” tweeted Thamel. “Curtis has been limited all week in practice but made it through Friday walk-through without issue.”

Curtis has dealt with a short-term, undisclosed injury throughout this entire week. He played every snap in the 21-15 loss to Auburn, so either he was playing through the injury or he sustained it in practice. If he misses the game, Vanderbilt will more than likely turn towards Blaze Berkowitz, who has 178 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions so far.

Curtis, a five-star quarterback from the class of 2026, was known for infamously flipping from Georgia to Vanderbilt on the first day of the early signing period. With Heisman candidate Diego Pavia running out of eligibility, Curtis put himself in a position to start right away. After a few games, the Commodores named him the unanimous starter.

In his first start, Curtis went 20 of 34 for 277 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. He helped Vanderbilt to get an exciting 35-31 win over N.C. State where a Wolfpack fumble in the end zone won it on the last play. In his next game against Auburn, he didn’t shine as much: 199 yards, no touchdowns and an interception. He has 746 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions on the year.
