IPL points table after RR vs LSG: Rajasthan Royals stay alive in playoff race after win over Lucknow Super Giants

NEW DELHI: Rajasthan Royals kept their IPL 2026 playoff hopes alive with a stunning seven-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur on Tuesday.

Chasing a massive target of 221, Rajasthan rode on a sensational 93 off just 38 balls from teenage star Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and an unbeaten 53 from Dhruv Jurel to complete the chase in 19.1 overs.

With the victory, Rajasthan climbed to fourth place in the IPL points table with 14 points from 13 matches and a net run rate of +0.083. The win keeps their playoff qualification hopes firmly alive heading into their final league game.

Earlier, LSG posted an imposing 220/5 after a brutal 96 from Mitchell Marsh and a rapid 60 from Josh Inglis. Marsh and Inglis added 109 runs for the opening wicket, putting Rajasthan’s bowling attack under heavy pressure. However, RR responded brilliantly with the bat in a must-win contest.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru remain at the top of the table with 18 points from 13 games, while Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad have already secured playoff qualification with 16 points each.

Punjab Kings are now fifth with 13 points from 13 matches, slipping below Rajasthan after RR’s victory. Chennai Super Kings remain sixth with 12 points, followed by Delhi Capitals, who also have 12 points but a poorer net run rate.

Kolkata Knight Riders stay eighth with 11 points from 12 matches and still remain mathematically alive in the playoff race.

Lucknow Super Giants, meanwhile, remain ninth with just eight points from 13 matches and are officially eliminated from playoff contention. Mumbai Indians are at the bottom of the standings with eight points from 12 games and are already out of the tournament as well.
