Fireworks, parades and celebrations in photos from around the country.

From sea to shinning sea, in rural towns and urban megalopolises, Americans are gathering this holiday weekend to celebrate the country’s 250th anniversary with parades, feats of strength and firework displays.

President Donald Trump will kick-start the weekend with a visit to Mount Rushmore on Friday evening, while Washingtonians and others will gather on the National Mall for an apolitical Capitol Fourth Concert in searing temperatures.

This story will be updated throughout Friday and Saturday.
