Europe Power Prices Crash to Record Lows on Strong Solar Output


Despite negative prices, Electricite de France kept certain reactors online over the weekend at the request of French grid operator RTE to help maintain system stability. Consequently, French nuclear output was reduced as solar generation surged, but it remained above 30 gigawatts. That meant the combined production from atomic plants and solar farms exceeded demand, according to data from RTE.
