The Miami Dolphins have been in fire sale mode this offseason as several stars and starters have been moved on, as a new era of Dolphins football begins in 2026 with Jeff Hafley.

But there has been one player the franchise didn’t seem too interested in letting walk out the door, and that’s Pro Bowl running back De’Von Achane.

While some thought the running back would be available for the right price, Miami wasn’t interested in moving on from Achane. But what about now that the NFL Draft is a week away?

Miami general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan just firmly shut the door on De’Von moving.

“He is not available for trade,” Sullivan said via NFL.com. “Things are going good. We’ve have some positive conversations over the last couple days. Trending in the right direction. He’s obviously very important to what we’re doing. It’s all part of it. It’s part of professional sports. We’ll get where we need to be one way or another, but yeah, things are trending in the right direction.”

Dolphins need players to build around

With the Dolphins moving on from a host of star players, most know that they can’t get rid of everyone in a single offseason. That’s just asking for trouble.

They still need good players to build the roster around, and in Achane’s case, a star running back to give the offense something productive on the ground.

Teams might still think that the Pro Bowl running back is available for the right price, as what is Sullivan supposed to say?

Either way, until the trade deadline comes and goes in November, this will always be a topic of discussion…even if Miami says he’s not available.
