The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is now available on the Switch 2. While it’s in a playable state, the game’s performance and some other things could potentially benefit from a patch or two.

While there’s no specific patch announcement for the Nintendo version (at least yet), Bethesda has today acknowledged feedback from Oblivion players in general, noting how it’s looking to bring optimisations from the new Switch 2 version to other platforms in the future.

“We’ve heard your feedback asking for an additional patch for Oblivion Remastered. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game has a number of optimizations that we are looking into bringing to other platforms and we will share more when we are able.”

Hopefully, this means there will also be some post-launch support for the game on Nintendo’s hardware. Apart from frame rate dips below the 30fps target, we noted in our review how switching to Joy-Con 2’s mouse mode wasn’t automatic.

When Skyrim’s Switch 2 Edition was released, Bethesda followed up this version with a patch a few weeks later and rolled out a much bigger update a few months later, addressing some issues and even adding a 60 Hz mode. Of course, Oblivion Remastered is a different (and much newer) beast.
