Batman New 52 Omnibus Sale: Court of Owls & Death of the Family Deals at Amazon

Batman fans have had plenty to celebrate in 2026. Between the continued success of DC’s Absolute Universe, anticipation for Matt Reeves’ The Batman Part II (despite its recent delay to early 2028), and the Dark Knight remaining front and center in DC’s publishing lineup, there’s never been a better time to revisit one of the character’s defining modern runs.

Batman by Scott Snyder & Greg Capullo Omnibus Vol. 1 (Batman Omnibus)

If you’re looking to complete the full story, Batman by Scott Snyder & Greg Capullo Omnibus Vol. 2 is also discounted. It’s currently available for $84.95, down from $125. While the savings aren’t quite as dramatic as Vol. 1, it’s still a solid discount on a hardcover collection that rarely sees deep price cuts.

These aren’t the older paperback collections or smaller hardcovers. Vol. 1 collects Batman #0-33, Batman #23.2, and Batman Annual #1-2, covering some of the most celebrated Batman stories of the past two decades, including Court of Owls, Night of the Owls, Death of the Family, Zero Year, and more.

Vol. 2 continues the run with Batman #34-52, Batman Annual #3-4, Batman: Futures End #1, Batman: Last Knight on Earth #1-3, and several tie-in issues, wrapping up Snyder and Capullo’s complete New 52 era.

More Batman Comic Deals

Although DC has since moved beyond the New 52 and introduced acclaimed newer series like Absolute Batman, Snyder and Capullo’s run remains one of the easiest recommendations for anyone wanting to get into Batman comics. It reinvented Bruce Wayne without losing sight of what makes the character compelling, while introducing villains and concepts that have become permanent fixtures in Batman lore.

The standout is still Court of Owls. Before 2011, the organization didn’t exist. Snyder’s story introduced the secret society as Gotham’s true puppet masters, revealing that Batman’s understanding of his own city had been incomplete all along. It’s one of those rare modern comic arcs that immediately felt like it had always belonged in Batman’s mythology.

Death of the Family follows with an even darker take on the Joker. Wearing his own severed face as a grotesque mask, the Clown Prince of Crime launches one of his most disturbing campaigns against Batman and the Bat-Family, forcing Bruce to question whether his closest allies are ultimately a weakness.

What makes the series hold up so well is the balance between blockbuster action and psychological storytelling. Capullo’s artwork remains some of the strongest Batman art ever put to page, while Snyder consistently finds new ways to challenge Bruce Wayne without simply repeating familiar Batman-versus-Joker beats.

The hardcover comics of Batman Court of Owls Vol 1 and Death of the Family

If you’ve never read this era before, Vol. 1 at $60.52 is an easy recommendation.

Even if you decide to pick up Vol. 2 later at its current $84.95 price, you’re still getting two premium hardcover omnibuses for significantly less than their combined $250 retail price.
