Arnold Schwarzenegger and Liam Hemsworth are no stranger to action movies. Indeed, they’ve appeared together in one –– ‘The Expendables 2.’

The pair is now reuniting for a new high-concept action outing called ‘The Kellys’ that has shades of ‘Die Hard’ (see the logline below).

With Brad Peyton (‘Rampage’) in the director’s chair, Amazon MGM Studios has snapped this one up, aiming to put it out via Prime Video. According to Deadline, production is already underway.

What’s the story of the ‘The Kelleys’?

With a script co-written by Tze Chun and Peyton, the story sees Molly, the wife of disgraced NYC cop Jack Kelly (Schwarzenegger), taken hostage by terrorists inside an old armory building.

Subsequently, Kelly will have to join forces with the people he fears most to save her: His family.

Most recently appearing in the second season of Netflix action comedy series ‘FUBAR,’ Schwarzenegger has worked on a new Christmas movie, ‘The Man with the Bag’ (in which he plays Santa), and is also planning to work with Christopher McQuarrie (‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’) on the latest attempt to make ‘King Conan.’
