Announcement of new diplomatic appointments


June 12, 2026 – Ottawa, Ontario – Global Affairs Canada

The Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced the following diplomatic appointments:

Alexandre Côté will become Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Haiti. Mr. Côté will replace André François Giroux, and he will take up his appointment in the coming months. 

Aly-Khan Rajani will become Consul General in Rio de Janeiro, in the Federative Republic of Brazil. Mr. Rajani will replace François Jubinville, and he will take up his appointment in the coming months.
