As a budget carrier, Allegiant Air has long focused on leisure-heavy markets like Florida. Passengers flying to the southeast US for sun, sea, sand, and more are more likely to prioritize cheap fares over the premium options offered by legacy carriers. In this regard, Allegiant is a perfect fit. This is also evidenced by upcoming additions to the carrier’s network.
Indeed, in the coming months, the airline will add no fewer than 15 routes to and from Florida as it continues to take advantage of strong demand for domestic leisure travel in the US.
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) sits at the heart of this expansion, accounting for six of the 15 new routes.
Three New Routes Apiece For Sanford & St Petersburg
Starting with Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB), this Florida airport will soon boast new Allegiant connections to Boston, Providence, and Trenton. According to Cirium, an aviation analytics company, the Trenton route will run from October through to February, making it ideal for those seeking winter sun. It will be served by Allegiant’s Airbus A319s, A320s, and Boeing 737 MAX 8-200s.

St. Petersburg will also see three new routes in the coming months. They will serve Boston, Columbia, and Philadelphia, with the carrier favoring its A319 and A320 jets for these routes. While Philly kicks off in October, flyers on the Columbia route will have to wait until November. Boston’s flights to Sanford and St. Petersburg start on February 13. The airline spoke about expanding its network in a statement.
“Known for connecting small to mid-size cities to popular leisure destinations, Allegiant continues to expand its network to provide more options for flyers. With the all-new hyper-seasonal availability, travelers can enjoy convenient, nonstop service at an affordable price.”
Fort Lauderdale Is The Biggest Winner
In recent years, Fort Lauderdale has become the figurehead of US aviation’s Florida-based leisure growth, and Allegiant is no exception to this rule. Indeed, in the coming months, the budget carrier is set to launch six new routes to and from Fort Lauderdale, which has become an increasingly attractive alternative for passengers looking to fly in and out of the wider Miami area on a tighter budget.
Four of these will start in October, with destinations in Boston, Kansas City, Omaha, and Pittsburgh. In each case, Allegiant’s jet of choice is the high-density 737 MAX 8-200. All four of these routes will run from October to February, with two flights a week on the Kansas City and Omaha routes. For Boston and Pittsburgh, meanwhile, the frequency will peak at thrice weekly.

Just as these four routes end in February 2027, two new ones will start out of Fort Lauderdale that month. The destinations are Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and Providence, Rhode Island. The former of these new Allegiant routes will run seasonally from February 20 to May 1 of next year, while the latter is set to be available from February 13 to April 24, 2027.
The Best Of The Rest
Elsewhere, Allegiant is also making smaller additions at two more airports. For instance, Punta Gorda is another facility that is set to enjoy a new direct link to
Boston Logan International Airport as a result of the carrier’s network growth. These flights, like those to Sanford and St Pete, will run from February 13 to April 24. Allegiant will also link Punta Gorda with La Cross from October to February.
Last but not least, the carrier will add a single route to and from
Orlando International Airport (MCO) in February 2027. This corridor will serve Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) year-round as of February 12. Allegiant is keen to fill the early flights on this route, as its recent statement on the new route advertised “introductory one-way fares as low as $49.”
