ALL DENIM: Italian pop star Achille Lauro summoned guests for the release party of what was apparently a new single titled “Esibizionista,” or “Exhibitionist” in English.
It turned out this was mainly a fashion affair: The singer was throwing a bash to unveil his second collection for Dondup, where he was named creative director last May.
The collection indeed debuted with a dedicated record by Lauro, now available on streaming platforms, and appears in the music video for the song.
Presented as a fall 2027 lineup — way ahead of the traditional timing for that season, which for the rest of the fashion pack comes next January and February — the collection hinges on the high-octane sensuality of Lauro’s first effort for the brand, unveiled with an impromptu fashion show during his concert last June at the San Siro Stadium.
The fall range zeroes in on bustier dresses, shrunken blazers cinched at the waist, pencil skirts with snap buttons running down the front, power tailoring and cropped trucker jackets.

They are all crafted from denim — Dondup’s signature material as a jeans specialist — in an array of shades, from indigo blue to turquoise and faded light blue.
The occasional hints on non-denim pieces come in the material’s colors for devoré tops, lace underpinnings and jacquard knits, which often reprise Dondup’s tribal logo.
An edit of the collection is already available at the brand’s flagships, on its e-commerce site and at select wholesale partners.

Lauro had already turned his attention to denim for the second drop of his debut collection titled “Erotica,” which hit stores this month.
Dondup was founded in 1999 in Fossombrone, in Italy’s central Marche region, by Massimo Berloni and Manuela Mariotti. It has been owned by the Made in Italy Fund since 2021. Lauro’s appointment was one of the first major decisions by Mauro Grange, Dondup’s chief executive officer since last December and a founding partner of its parent company.
