The human rights attorney wore a column gown from the Italian luxury fashion house that was dripping in gold sequins. Starting at the bodice, the dress featured a wide neckline and barely on-the-shoulder straps.
The bodice of the dress was mostly fitted, creating a streamlined silhouette. Below the waistline, the gold sequins that were artfully sewn into the bodice transitioned to a hanging tassel style throughout the skirt, with layers upon layers of the material creating a liquid-like, ombré effect.

Along with her Gucci gown, Clooney added a pair of metallic gold pointed-toe pumps to her black-tie attire. She accessorized with a pair of diamond statement earrings and carried a shimmering clutch to boot.
Clooney wearing Gucci was not a coincidence for Friday night’s Albies. The Italian luxury fashion house served as Sentinel Sponsor and exclusive fashion partner for the annual event, alongside sponsors Charlotte Tilbury and Microsoft. Even Amal’s husband, actor George Clooney, sported a classic tuxedo by Gucci.

In years past, Amal Clooney has given a sartorial nod to the fashion house that’s joined the sponsors for the Clooney Foundation for Justice’s celebration. The 2025 edition of the Albies featured the barrister wearing a flowing brown gown courtesy of Atelier Versace, which joined Charlotte Tilbury and Microsoft as cosponsors of the event.
Established in 2022 by Amal and George Clooney, the Albies are named after Justice Albie Sachs, a leader of the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa who advocated for equality and survived imprisonment, exile and an assassination attempt.

The 2026 edition of The Albies honored Kyrgyz journalists Bolot Temirov and Makhabat Tazhibek Kyzy; Malawian girls’ rights advocate Vanessa Mwangala; American photojournalist Lynsey Addario; Congolese organization Justice Plus, and Brad Smith, vice chair and president of Microsoft and human rights advocate.
“This year’s Albie honorees embody the values at the heart of our foundation. Through these awards, we want them — and everyone advocating for justice around the globe — to know that the world is watching and that they are not alone,” the Clooneys said in a statement.
