If ever there were a model for bohemian beauty, it would be Stevie Nicks.
With fringe and free-flowing waves, the former “Fleetwood Mac” frontwoman has demonstrated a commitment to the lively aesthetic with its soft textures and silhouettes and has just offered her latest take.
Nicks descended upon the Lincoln Center for the New York City Ballet’s annual Fall Fashion Gala on Thursday, where she was photographed embracing board member and fundraising chair Sarah Jessica Parker. The two smiled outside the landmark building, the music artist wearing a flower crown while the actress wore a Rapunzel braid.

Nicks’ flower crown harkened back to the hippie beauty trends of the 1960s and the subsequent festival fashion fad of the 2010s. The delicate accessory also paired well with her Renaissance gown, accenting its pink and mauve hues and sparkle stitching. Underneath, Nicks let her natural curls run wild, cascading down her back and shoulders. Of course, her arms matched the uninterrupted movement of her hair, fluttering in front of the cameras.

Bohemian hair and makeup are supposedly taking a backseat in bridal beauty, with stylists predicting a new wave of wedding looks to rise on the scene this season.
According to Kimberly Michelle, founder of Mint Well Salon and Head Spa, bridal beauty is all about longevity, finding styles that are wearable and timeless. In pursuit of this, brides are breaking up with barely-there styling.
“After several seasons of effortless, bridal hair is becoming more polished and beautifully finished again,” Michelle previously told WWD. “This isn’t a return to stiff or overly sprayed hair. The new direction is refined but touchable, with thoughtful shape, movement and structure.”

Parker’s braid from Thursday is perhaps a better example of how best to strike a balance between low-effort and overdone hair. Clad in a sheer baby doll design by Simone Rocha, the “Sex and the City” lead led the night with an extra-long, twisted ponytail that finished well past her hips. Styled by Serge Normant and colored by Gina Gilbert, the hairdo trailed behind her like a multidimensional shadow, blending gray, blond and brunette tones.

Elsewhere, Julia Fox erupted on the scene, sporting skinny brows, overly blushed cheeks, black liner and glossed lips, no less.
