If you weren’t able to attend gamescom 2026 this week – and thus haven’t been able to see Playground Games’ presentation of brand new quest gameplay from Fable – never fear. Above, you can watch a full 18 minutes of gameplay centred on a quest through Bowerstone, the series’ reimagined capital city.

Along the way, you’ll find out more about how intricate this world is (you can go inside every single building, and buy every single house), meet Humphry (disgraced leader of the Heroes’ Guild), see how choice and consequence can play out, and get multiple looks at combat in action. If that’s not enough for you, find out all about combat in our impressions after the first playable hands-on.

Fable arrives February 23, 2027, with early access for the Premium Edition beginning February 18. It will be available on XBOX Series X|S, XBOX on PC, cloud, and included with Game Pass. Play it on both console and PC at no additional cost with XBOX Play Anywhere.
