A man suspected of harassing more than a dozen people in Philadelphia while wearing a Chucky-style mask was arrested in Las Vegas on Tuesday, the authorities said.

The man, Zymire Hughes, 22, was apprehended by a U.S. Marshals Service task force in Nevada and held in jail while awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania, the service said in a statement.

The Philadelphia Police Department last week identified Mr. Hughes as a suspect after a man wearing a Halloween mask was reportedly threatening pedestrians. Many observers compared the mask to one styled after the character Chucky from the 1988 horror film “Child’s Play.”

“Tonight the fear that one man brought to the Philadelphia community comes to an end,” Robert Clark, the supervisory deputy U.S. marshal for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, said at a news conference announcing the arrest on Tuesday. “By hiding behind a Chucky-style Halloween mask, Hughes terrorized Philadelphia residents and believed he could evade law enforcement. He was wrong.”

Mr. Hughes was expected to face felony and misdemeanor charges of aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime and terroristic threats, among other charges, Larry Krasner, the Philadelphia district attorney, said last week.

On Wednesday morning, the Clark County Detention Center in Nevada listed Mr. Hughes as in custody with no bail set and a hearing date scheduled for Thursday morning. Las Vegas Township Justice Court records showed on Wednesday morning that Mr. Hughes had been arrested on felony charges.

The Clark County public defender and Mr. Krasner’s office did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Wednesday morning.

Last week, the Philadelphia police asked for the public’s help to locate Mr. Hughes, who they said was wanted for terrorizing people in the city. In one instance, on Aug. 12, the authorities said Mr. Hughes approached a woman while wearing the Chucky mask and asked, “Are you ready to die?” He then chased the woman, who ran away and stumbled, causing injuries to her hamstring and spine, the police said.

In another instance, a man in a similar mask confronted Jameka Wilson, a 25-year-old actress, who was on her way to an early morning exercise class. Ms. Wilson responded by kicking the man in the chest, becoming a minor local celebrity in the process.

Mr. Hughes had harassed 15 or 16 people in the Center City neighborhood of Philadelphia in the past month, the authorities said in a news conference last week. While they were not certain of his motivations, they said they believed Mr. Hughes was scaring people for social media content.

The authorities said Mr. Hughes did not brandish a weapon in the confrontations, and the jogger was the only person they knew of who was injured. Mr. Krasner added that Mr. Hughes was on probation for a crime he had committed in Montgomery County, Pa., without specifying the crime.

The police said they had tracked Mr. Hughes across Philadelphia through surveillance cameras to an apartment complex where he lived. They said they had received information that he had packed his bags and left the apartment last week, adding that he was known to have ties to California and Nevada.

U.S. marshals in Philadelphia and Las Vegas began a joint investigation and tracked Mr. Hughes to an apartment complex in southeast Las Vegas, the service said in a statement released on Tuesday. He was arrested that evening without incident.
