Pokémon TCG: Pitch Black Sealed Boosters In Stock — Best Preorder Deal at Amazon and TCGplayer

Pokémon TCG’s next Mega Evolution expansion, Pitch Black, is rapidly approaching and will release on July 17. If you’re looking to pick up some boosters to crack for launch week and don’t want to pay a fortune, then I’ve found the perfect deal for you.

Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Pitch Black Booster Bundle

Sold and Shipped by Amazon

Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Pitch Black Booster Bundle

Release Date: July 17, 2026.

That’s over $10 in savings compared to buying on the resale market. Booster Bundles include six Pitch Black packs to open, and at $57.92, that works out at about $9.65 per pack.

It’s not the greatest deal we’ve ever seen for a Booster Bundle, but it’s a whole lot better than before. I also want to emphasize that this is “sold and shipped” directly from Amazon itself, and not via any third-party sellers.

But let’s also not forget that this is still wildly beyond the original MSRP. At $58, that’s around $28 more than the original $30 MSRP, a pretty sizable 93.33% markup, and almost double the original price. Yet, that’s just what we expect with Pokémon TCG these days.

Yet, no matter how unfortunate it is, this is often the price you have to pay now, even from big retailers like Amazon. But is it worth it? Only you can be the judge of that.

The market price is often dictated by what the majority of people are willing to pay, but only you can decide if this if truely worth your money. If you do decide to preorder, it might be best to pick up two or three just in case this sells out between now and release day.

Moreover, with Amazon’s preorder price guarantee, you won’t pay any more than the price from when you first ordered, and you’ll even get any additional discounts retroactively applied to your order as well. Final reminder, Amazon won’t actually charge you for these until it ships, a nice benefit for those who want to pay for a preorder when it’s actually on its way to them.

What is Pokémon TCG Pitch Black?

Pokemon TCG’s next English Mega Evolution expansion to release is Pitch Black. At over 115 cards, Pitch Black is a much leaner, more manageable expansion compared to the Coalossal 295-card checklist of Ascended Heroes.

We currently know 4 of the 6 Mega Evolution Pokémon – Mega Darkrai ex, Mega Zeraora ex, Mega Chandelure ex, and Mega Excadrill ex. Could we be about to get a viable Lightning type attacker? Only time will tell.

It’s already looking like the dark, brooding sibling to the bright Ascended Heroes cards we’ve been chasing all summer.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • 6 Mega Evolution Pokémon ex
  • 4 Pokémon ex
  • 11 Illustration Rare Pokémon
  • 18 Ultra Rare Pokémon and Trainer cards
  • 6 Special Illustration Rares (Pokémon and Supporters)
  • Over 20 Trainer cards
  • 35+ total cards with special illustrations

Expected Chase Cards

Is anything more spooky than the current state of the Pokémon TCG market? Apparently yes – the terrifying debut of Mega Darkrai ex. Plucked straight from the Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension DLC, this mythical powerhouse is ready to turn the TCG competitive scene into a living nightmare.

In Abyss Eye – the Japanese equivalent of this set – Mega Darkrai ex has the “Abyss Eye” attack. If your opponent’s Active Pokémon is affected by a Special Condition, it is Knocked Out, no matter its remaining HP. Yikes. So long to the high-HP tank meta – this will be a fun card to play. Plus, it looks cool as heck, so there’s something for every fan.

While Darkrai gets the box art, it isn’t fighting alone. The expansion confirms three other heavy-hitters. The set’s Elite Trainer Box promo will be a new Zarude Illustration Rare, which is sure to fetch a handsome sum on third-party resell sites.

Pokémon TCG: Best Deals Today

If you’re looking for even more Pokémon TCG deals, then look no further. The biggest recent offers at Amazon, in terms of restocks and discounts, are on the Chaos Rising ETB for $79.99, at market price, and the Prismatic Evolution ETB, at $178, way below market price.
