Grand Theft Auto VI is by far the most anticipated video game of the year, with fans so desperate for it that they’ve flooded Rockstar with negative reviews to complain about the long wait. While the game won’t be here until November 19, preorders are finally open. Grand Theft Auto VI will retail for $80 for the Standard Edition and $100 for the Ultimate Edition and is available through all major retailers for both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Digital preorders are also available, and the game will be pre-loadable as of November 12.
Grand Theft Auto VI Preorder Bonuses
Placing a preorder for either version of Grand Theft Auto VI comes with the Vintage Vice City Pack, which includes:
- ’55 Vapid Stanier — a retro style sedan
- Ocean Beach garage
- Vintage-style outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia
- Weapon patterns inspired by Tommy Vercetti
Along with this, your preorder grants you a free month of GTA+ for digital preorders. This adds $500,000 to your in-game bank balance, and you get access to a selection of classic Rockstar titles via the GTA+ Games Library. Important note from the fine print: this subscription will auto-renew until you discontinue it.
Grand Theft Auto VI Standard Edition

Grand Theft Auto VI introduces former Army veteran Jason and ex-con Lucia, two new protagonists living in the Florida-inspired state of Leonida, who get swept up in a state-wide conspiracy after a bank heist gone wrong. The game has a massive map and allows players to explore new areas, including the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, and Port Gellhorn, as well as returning to Vice City. Players can switch between Jason and Lucia, marking the first time a GTA game has had dual protagonists, as well as the first female protagonist.
While you can buy a physical version of Grand Theft Auto VI, the box will contain a download code rather than a physical disc. Digital preorders are also available on PSN and Xbox.

Rockstar says the Ultimate Edition will contain “an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story.” Here’s what that looks like in detail:

While neither Rockstar or Take-Two has publicly stated a number, Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick told Business Insider in an interview that the game was “very expensive” to make. Industry analysts have said the cost could be $1.5 billion. That would make it the most expensive video game ever made.
