Elle Fanning brought the drama in Altuzarra to “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Thursday in New York City.
The Oscar-nominated “Sentimental Value” star turned to the New York City-based luxury fashion label’s fall 2026 ready-to-wear collection for her late-night look. Fanning wore a maxidress with a V-shaped, sinuous neckline and fluttering sleeves with added shoulder emphasis that introduced dimensions to the look.

The black dress’ fitted bodice transitioned to a cinched waist with a belt and metallic hardware for silhouette definition. From the waist, the skirt flowed with semi-sheer fabric and an ease of movement that added contrast to the look while maintaining its overall elevated elegance.
To accessorize her attire, Fanning wore a gold bracelet by Cartier, for which she serves as a global brand ambassador and has starred as the face of the jewelry label’s Grain de Café collection.

When it came to her glam, Fanning’s hair was styled with a middle part and worn straight and down by Jenda Alcorn. Her makeup included clean, serene elements from soft brows to a neutral, glossy lip by artist Erin Ayanian Monroe. The actress’ look was curated by stylist Samantha McMillen.
Joseph Altuzarra’s fall 2026 curation made its runway debut as part of New York Fashion Week in February 2026. The collection focused on “reworking the mundane to fit the modern woman’s wardrobe by putting their own spin on it with personality-driven twists, ’90s nods and more,” per Emily Mercer’s WWD review of the collection.

“Altuzarra’s dresses, his biggest category, had just as much ease and excitement with sprays of tubular pom-pom fringes or anatomical body prints, updated this season with shadows of bugle beads and sequins. Everyday elegance came through romantic Chantilly lace or softly ruffled layers beneath his upped ante of leather and shearling outerwear,” Mercer wrote.
