Zara, COS and Abercrombie Quietly Dropped the Chicest Summer Buys

The grey skies and influx of rain weren’t exactly what we imagined when the high summer temperatures arrived, but if you need a silver lining, I’ve found it. The launch into summer dressing was swift and sticky, with a ten-degree jump that forced our wardrobes to shift seasons in an instant, even if they weren’t quite ready. Whilst the British weather takes this time to show its full range, I’m using this respite from the heat to take a step back and assess my summer wardrobe.

The first glimpse of high summer temperatures put our wardrobes to the test. And now, we’ve got a chance to take note of how our outfits fared on the scorching hot days. Already, I’ve found I’m missing a staple summer shoe that works with every outfit, a reliable pair of linen shorts for the hottest days, and a few more throw-on dresses that can move between the office and off-duty plans with ease.
