Breeze Airways Launches 5 Exciting New International Routes [List & Map]

In 2025, Breeze Airways had no scheduled international services. That changed in January 2026, when its first service took off, which was from Norfolk to Cancun International Airport (CUN). Flights quickly followed from Charleston to CUN.

As of May 11, the fast-growing airline now plans 14 international routes, although this could easily change again soon. This follows the recent announcement of five additional markets, each of which is to either the ever-popular CUN or Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). It comes shortly after Breeze revealed more domestic links.

On December 19, just in time for Christmas, the carrier will inaugurate service from Tampa to CUN. Served twice-weekly on the 137-seat Airbus A220-300, this will be Breeze’s new second-shortest international route, at 478 nautical miles (885 km) each way.

It is a good-sized market. According to booking data, 137,000 round-trip local passengers (375 daily) flew between the two places last year. Around 85% of the passengers flew nonstop with JetBlue Airways. Breeze’s arrival in seven months means the market will have two airlines again, following Frontier Airlines pulling out in 2025.

On January 7, 2027, Breeze will launch flights from Pittsburgh to CUN (three weekly A220-300), followed the next day by Richmond to CUN (twice-weekly A220-300). It’ll be the first time the carrier has operated internationally from both US cities. It’ll also mark its international debut from Pennsylvania, although not from Virginia, as it has international services from Norfolk.

Following BermudAir’s short-lived to Richmond, the city will have international flights again. The US Department of Transportation shows that CUN was last served in 2005, when the now-defunct USA3000 operated. With around 33,000 round-trip indirect passengers last year (90 daily), CUN remains the largest unserved international market from Richmond.

Pittsburgh-CUN is very different. It is already served by American Airlines and Southwest Airlines, although the latter only operates briefly. In 2026, its schedule submission to Cirium Diio shows just nine round-trip services, which is its smallest offering for five years.

These Two Routes To PUJ WIll Begin

Breeze first arrived in PUJ, gateway to the extremely popular tourist destination, in March 2026. Two additional routes have now been added. On January 7, 2027, it’ll launch service from Pittsburgh to the Dominican Republic destination (three weekly A220-300). It’ll compete directly with American. In prior years, especially from 2006 and 2009, considerably more flights existed with USA3000.

The next day, Breeze will lift off from Columbus to PUJ (twice-weekly A220-300). This will be the first time the airline has operated internationally from Ohio. The market has barely ever had nonstop flights, with the DOT showing that USA3000 operated until 2004.

Even without service, it is reasonably sized, with 32,000 round-trip passengers last year (88 daily). It was Columbus’ third-largest unserved international market. At 1,487 nautical miles (2,754 km), it is Breeze’s new longest international offering. Flights back to Ohio are timed at up to four hours and 30 minutes.

Breeze Now Has 14 International Routes (For Now)

All five routes mentioned earlier will be operational by mid-January. When that happens, the latest information, which is certainly subject to change, shows that Breeze plans 43 weekly services to non-US destinations. While representing significant growth for the airline, it will, of course, have a tiny presence from the US to the Caribbean, Central America, and Mexico. It’ll operate just 0.5% of the available flights, or one in every 200 services.

With 18 weekly departures, Tampa will remain its leading gateway. In contrast, Raleigh/Durham ranks first when domestic services are included. Pittsburgh is distantly second internationally (six weekly departures), followed by Charleston (three), New Orleans (three), Norfolk (three), Providence (three), Raleigh/Durham (three), Columbus (two), and Richmond (two).
