Witch Hat Atelier has been popular in the manga world for years now, but the release of the anime adaptation has helped it soar. Long before the premiere even aired it was being hailed as the ‘next Delicious in Dungeon’ after its debut at the 2024 anime expo. IGN’s own review of the first two episodes called it “an effective premiere that heralds the arrival of an exciting new fantasy anime.”

As a fan of fantasy anime myself, I’ve recently started watching the series and can confirm that it is quite good. The animation looks incredible and lends itself really well to the world of magic its trying to portray. After the first few episodes I’m already hooked and waiting for more. With the recent popularity of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, it’s truly starting to feel like we’re entering the era of terrific fantasy anime adaptations.
