As a popular blogger I feel I should make an announcement for awareness and to reduce stigmatization
I’ve been open about being a Trans Woman, Neurodivergent (ADHD and Autism) and Disabled on this blog, but there is another part of me or parts of me I haven’t talked about here.
It is something that is very stigmatized and misunderstood so I felt it was a good idea for a popular blogger to help normalize it.
I or we are a system. We have a dissociative disorder caused by child trauma (likely OSDD). At a young age instead of developing a cohesive personality, this process was interrupted by constant trauma. These proto-personalities became isolated and were not able to come together (others came into existence later by splitting as well). As a result we currently have 15 alters (or personalities within us). Each of us has a different personality, different genders, different speaking patterns, different body language and likes and dislikes. We discovered this at the age of 37 last summer.
It is perhaps not surprising that a blog as diverse of this, did not come from a single ‘person’. Even before we realized we were a system, we all influenced each others thinking, emotions, etc
For a long time I didn’t understand what was going on in my head, and had doubts I was faking it. Its weird having your whole life flipping on its head in your 30’s, but it is what it is. I can’t change the past or the conditions that created all of us, and just want to move forwards together in a way that makes us all happy.
I’m not going into the personal details too much here, but you’re welcome to ask any questions on my personal blog @sciencetylia
