Colton Praill is leaving CTV News to join spark* as a public relations strategist.

In a post on LinkedIn, the firm said Praill, who worked in CTV Parliament Hill bureau, brings a “sharp eye for storytelling, strong media relations expertise, and a passion for strategic communications.”

Before departing the network this month, Praill had worked for CTV since early 2023. Before that, he worked as a news writer and journalist for Ottawa radio station 580 CFRA, which is owned by CTV’s parent company Bell Media.

He joined CTV’s Hill bureau in the fall of 2023.

“I’ve had the privilege of sharing Canadian’s stories across the country over the past decade. I’m eager to transition those skills beyond amplifying messaging into shaping the narrative itself,” Praill told iPolitics via email.

Meanwhile, Hana Sabah has sprouted a new job title.

The Grain Growers of Canada announced on Wednesday that Sabah had been promoted to the group’s senior communications manager.

In a post on LinkedIn, Sabah said she was thankful for the “trust and opportunity to continue this work.”

“I am incredibly grateful to our team, board, and members for their collaboration, support, and commitment that made this work possible.

Sabah joined the organization in February 2024, and had previously worked for the Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance and Impact Public Affairs.

Finally, Yash Dogra has joined Burson as its vice-president of public affairs, based in Toronto.

In a post on LinkedIn, the firm said Dogra “brings more than a decade of experience advising organizations at the intersection of business and government,” and has “managed complex mandates and campaigns on behalf of his clients across sectors that are central to Canada’s economy, including energy, finance, healthcare, infrastructure, technology, and transportation.”

Prior to joining Burson, Dogra had spent the past seven years at National Public Relations, serving most recently as its vice-president of public affairs.

Dogra also spent over four years at the Capital Hill Group.
