Founded by Bethany McDaniel, Primally Pure makes its products sustainably in SoCal (with some ingredients coming from the company’s regenerative farm!). Founder Jenefer Palmer says she was trying to fill a gap in the market: a lip mask that would address dryness and signs of aging on a deeper level. These naturally derived ingredients aren’t harsh, unlike stronger retinols that might cause redness and chapped lips. Instead, the mask works like a “restorative cocoon,” locking in hydration and softness overnight. The soft jelly-like texture isn’t sticky and, better yet, doesn’t leave a residue.

The brand’s Vegan Lip Balm comes in some extremely luxe flavors: coconut cacao, sweet orange tangerine, rosemary eucalyptus, and peppermint clove. Each is designed as a little dose of mood-boosting aromatherapy — rosemary for respiratory and itch relief and sweet orange as a mood booster, for example. You can use it on your lips, of course, but for a stronger dose of scent, rub it directly under your nostrils. The balm’s multipurpose — you don’t have to buy a separate product for the rest of your body — so you can use it on any of your dry skin. If you need something more hydrating, the brand’s All Over Balm in rosebud flavor is good for under the eyes in particular.
