Star Wars Day is upon us, and that means there’s a slew of Star Wars related discounts on just about everything. And while it may be tempting to buy up any cool Star Wars gift you find online, there are only so many things that you’ll actually end up using. The best merch from that galaxy far, far away is the kind that just subtly clicks into your daily lifestyle. For some, that may still mean a $600 animatronic Grogu, but for most people it means something much more practical and affordable.
As a writer who has covered many a Star Wars Day from a shopping perspective over the years, I’ve developed a bit of a knack for finding the gifts that people actually want to buy. Some of it is a bit gimmicky, but each of the items I’ve featured here serve some other purpose beyond just being Star Wars-themed.
Lightsaber Electric Salt and Pepper Mill Grinder

Lightsaber Electric Salt and Pepper Mill Grinder

First up, we have these Lightsaber electric salt and pepper mills. If you’re already grinding your pepper and salt, why not make the experience just a little bit cooler? The photos show pepper being used alongside the Dark Side and salt for the Light, but you can totally switch those around if you want.
Retro Hoth Badge T-Shirt

There are a lot of Star Wars shirts out there, but some of them are way too obvious in their branding. The coolest Star Wars shirts, in my opinion, are the ones you can casually wear any day of the week. This Retro Hoth T-Shirt is the perfect example of that, featuring an AT-AT amid the backdrop of a double sunset. Hoth doesn’t have two suns, but since Tatooine has better sunsets, it just makes sense.
ChopSabers Light Up Chopsticks

Following the same Lightsaber theme as the salt and pepper grinders, the ChopSabers are an absolute classic. I’ve been seeing these pop up pretty much every year during my career as a writer and they’ve never not been cool. They feature an LED light and can be used as chopsticks to eat any cuisine you like. The one downside is that they aren’t dishwasher safe, but handwashing is pretty easy with chopsticks anyway.
Millennium Falcon Waffle Maker

Waffles are a treat in my household. It’s only about once a month that we actually pull out the waffle maker and make the superior version of pancakes. This speciality Millenium Falcon waffle maker from Uncanny Brands is a great way to make an already special occasion even more special. The Falcon is pretty much waffle shaped already.
Yoda Force Bookends

If you’re hoping to add some Star Wars to your shelf, the Yoda bookend is actually quite incredible. It’s a sturdy, angled metal piece with a little Yoda doing his usual “I’m using the force” hand. It’s designed to look like he’s holding up your leaning books with nothing but pure energy. It’s great for smaller book collections that sit atop a floating shelf or bookcase.

There are actually a lot of different Star Wars board games you can buy today, but a deck of cards is a lot more reasonable to keep on hand. The design on the deck box is sleek and the cards themselves are subtley Star Wars-themed. You’ve got Obi-Wan Kenobi as a king or Leia as a queen; it’s great.
Death Star Ceramic Planter

The Death Star planter is the perfect addition to any room or desk. The plant is still the main attraction, but every once in a while you can look at it and think: “That’s no moon”. Because it is indeed a vase of no lunar origin.
Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook

Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook

There’s a themed cookbook for pretty much everything these days, and that’s because food is delicious. This one looks like it’s pretty much just a regular cookbook full of recipes named after Star Wars things or pulled directly from the universe itself. It’s a fun thing to have on hand if you’re ever planning a movie marathon and need a few Bantha Burgers on hand to elevate the experience.
LEGO Star Wars R2-D2 Building Toy Set

Star Wars is one of the biggest LEGO Themes in existence. There’s an incredible number of Star Wars sets and LEGO seemingly releases new ones each month. If you’re looking to get one as a gift for an adult, however, I’d recommend sticking to the display models. This R2-D2 set is perfect for a desk or a shelf and is fun to put together.
If you’re looking for something a lot bigger and cooler, there’s also the new Mandalorian N-1 Starfighter set that was just released for May the Fourth 2026.
May The Fork Be With You

I may have included too many food things on this list already, but I couldn’t not include May the Fork Be With You. It’s just a regular stainless steel fork, but with the words “May the Fork Be With You” on it. Oh and it comes in a simple but elegant gift box.
What I love about this is just how giftable it is. If you get it for someone and they love it, they can keep it in its case and whip it out for special occasions. And if they don’t care about it, they’ll just toss it in their silverware drawer and probably end up using it all the time. People always need more forks and a little dose of Star Wars at the dinner table never hurt anyone.
