Nintendo is ramping up its Zelda 40th Anniversary celebrations with a few new initiatives for the N64’s Majora’s Mask.
First up, and what is undoubtedly the highlight for us, is the addition of the original soundtrack on Nintendo Music. Nintendo states that this will be added on Friday, 9th October in Japan, so it’s likely that it will drop on Thursday in western regions.
It’s a cracking soundtrack, so we’re eager to give it a listen when it drops.
Nintendo has also introduced Majora’s Mask digital cards to Nintendo Today!, bringing with it a selection of daily quiz questions. Answer the question right and you’ll earn a token that can eventually be exchanged for wallpapers or even previous cards you might have missed.
Finally, Majora’s Mask icons have been added to the Mission & Rewards feature on the Switch, so you can customise your profile picture to a number of unique characters from the game. This will be available until 23rd October.
Nintendo’s big game for the end of the year is a full Switch 2 remake of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which launches on 5th November 2026. It remains to be seen whether the company will eventually follow up with a Majora’s Mask remake, but it’s certainly something we’d like to see.
