Blue Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros said he was “bummed” to miss out on seeing his longtime friend and NFLer Travis Kelce marry pop icon Taylor Swift at a star-studded wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday.

But Winnipeg’s game schedule had him on the road in Hamilton ahead of the Bombers’ bout with the Tiger-Cats on Sunday.

“You can speak to any pro football player, part of this deal is you miss events like that,” Collaros, who was roommates with the Kansas City Chiefs star in college, said in a video posted to the team’s Instagram account.

“It’s not a normal job where you can take a couple days off and make up your work on the fly. You’ve got to play a game,” he said.

Still, it’s “never easy” to miss loved ones’ weddings and family events, he said.

Collaros was “bummed” to miss Friday’s ceremony, which was officiated by actor Adam Sandler, because Kelce attended all of his wedding-related events — including engagement parties, bachelor parties and the wedding in 2019.

He said he talked to the couple recently, joking that “you guys could have looked at the damn schedule” before setting a wedding date.
